group interest check? - fulzanin - 06-21-2020 heyo gang, kuga here with an interest check for y'all!! a backboard group (I mean. of course it'd be backboard.) that resides within a dormant volcano, called the Parliament of Embers. The remains of human civilization? What civilization! The group's camp, composed entirely out of the molten rock from deep below (which is hardened from being on the surface for ages), formed into houses and other buildings that can be altered by the earth/fire elementals at will without any human touch - because,, what humans would go to live in a dormant volcano. Which I'd assume is good under site rules i.e. the movement of rock to create and alter homes, and fire/magma being added to make more rocky material. small baby steps to make something big overtime. so free housing styles, not bound to the styles of human structures! The territory outside of the dormant volcano are canyons, deep and twisted, where life springs in the shallows where water collects after the storms. Thin forests can be found atop the canyon walls, but most of the territory is canyon walls and bottoms. Specific bits of territory such as locations can be discussed later if interest picks up!! The main gimmick of the group, of course, comes from the hierarchy - hinted at from the very name of the group. There's no leader. There's no deputy. The group is entirely ran by an oligarchy, where every single character gets to toss in an IC vote. No person is higher than another unless an IC vote has given them a position that dictates such. The structure and stance of the group all comes down to the morals and ideas of those that live there. Titles and positions? All to be promoted by voting. The call to a vote? Decided by any one person. The votes can range to any and all topics, of course being halted before 'no more oligarchy'. Votable positions, of course, can range from those that lead the group to combat, those specified to deliver gifts and peace, those who train, those who heal, those that gather, those that hunt, and any in-between and outside of that range! If this gathers interest I'll either make a discord or a different thread for stuff regarding this. lemme know your thoughts and if you're interested! : D Re: group interest check? - Luciferr - 06-22-2020 sounds intriguing :0 And I’m always a sucker for volcanic settings (and hey that could lead to those cool volcano warm spring things you find near dormant or inactive volcanos) Re: group interest check? - fulzanin - 06-26-2020 volcanic hotsprings,, I hadn't even thought of those! I like that idea, a luxury spot perhaps,, a place to get water (perhaps boiling water) for... stuff. what sorts of stuff? I'm sure boiling gets used for cooking, and it could be used for such if its close to where the camp is. a water source, nonetheless, which is nice! Re: group interest check? - Luciferr - 06-27-2020 would certainly make for a nice relaxing spot - and warm water can be good for aches and pains and such, so might be a benefit to your group’s medics too. Re: group interest check? - MysteriouslyMaple - 07-05-2020 This sounds interesting!! The only real concern I have with it is the whole. earth/fire elementals thing being how houses are created & moved around... It feels like it could be extremely limiting - while it is the only way - to have elementals be a way of providing housing. Obviously this can't really be done without the aid of elementals, especially if you want to go the route of using hardened molten rock, so it (seemingly) being the only way of providing housing makes it seem limiting, in my opinion Re: group interest check? - Orion - 07-16-2020
