something worth remembering . building homes - ARGUS - 08-25-2020 it was a grewsome task, but a necessary one. Her size helped matters mostly, but the tree's that were cut in half by the ruins of the strikes still left good roots. The flooded homes that once were stocked and made of stone provided materials. Argus since the day of her appearance had set to the task of helping the clan: as is her duty, the watcher: the damned mother. she stumbled upon her new home but it was hers her own blood sang in the victory of i.
She dug under heavy roots and built walls made of stone set into dirt. It was a project Argus set to while the other's went on their scouting's. Beyond Argus' own use- she found the time. In her time there, only one felt truly safe. an old gnarled oak tree cut to splinters a scant feet above the ground. a large hallow of pushed dirt aside: an entry way that was a gaping hole, the small spots where the dirt walls crumbled were filled with stone. The roots of the tree suspended by their own heavy root work and a stone pillar placed scantly in the center of the basement-like home. All that was left was to weave a roof. Of dried leaves or any found material: argus' patience for smaller things wasn't much present, but she continued to gather the materials. Of course, it should come as no surprise that Caesar wasn't doing anything at all to help out with building homes, or preparing the camp in case they would get some new members or prisoners. Instead, the savannah lazed about, his eyes half-closed as he relaxed. He tried to ignore Argus as much as he could as she moved about, making noise as she moved things around. "Are you done yet?" Caesar grunted as he opened his eyes now, glaring up at the large dragoness, his tail flicking back-and-forth in irritation. "Because I could really use some quiet time." He didn't need sleep, no, but this body he possessed did; and what better time to catch up on some much-needed rest when he was settling into his new home?[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] Re: something worth remembering . building homes - Stryker - 08-30-2020 STRYKER HARBRINGER ☣ COTC
The larger beings that built homes on their territory were a big help. Stryker was giant, but Argus was a massive, ten-eyed dragon. Her strength was immeasurable. Needless to say, ever since her arrival, he appreciated her help. Today was no different. As the Kingpin sauntered through the territory, he spotted the woman from afar. Slitted eyes ran up and down her home, admiring it's careful work. Despite the structure not being finished, he was impressed. It was nothing like The Pitt's temples or tree homes, but it was suitable for now. The Coalition of the Condemned could only do so much.
Coming up to greet the two, Stryker rolled his eyes. "Go lay on the beach then, Caesar." In truth, the area wasn't any quieter, but the lion hoped the seagulls would peck the savannah and squawk in his ear. At least Caesar wouldn't be bothering any wanderers though. Plus, killing a few birds would help him. All that bottled anger needed to come out somehow and Stryker preferred that frustration to be used elsewhere. Turning away from Caesar, the lion offered a dip of his head in greeting to Argus. "Why, this looks fantastic, Argus," he commented with a smile. "Who's it for?" Maybe she could shove Caesar in it later and lock him in. Oh, how he wished... I'm back like a vertebrae and I come with a hat full of tricks, Everybody's waitin for the show to begin — Reggan
Re: something worth remembering . building homes - SirDio - 08-30-2020 Ezrakel Tsune
"It's as if he's haunting me, wanting me to break under his maddening presence."
Since his arrival, he was trying to get used to everyone and how they act, even if he didn't get to interact with almost anyone. Argus, he knew somewhat. Caesar and Stryker? Not so much. He was in the... well, what could be called the reminants of the main camp. He worked quietly, finding a mass of tangled roots with a small ditch dug already underneath it. After setting his pouch by the roots, he started to search for stones, sticks, old drift wood, and other such the like. His paws stumbled a bit as he moved, carrying most things between his neck and his bandana. Being nearby where Arugs was working, he heard Caesar's remark, and whipped his head around to look at the serval. Something whispered in his ear, only a whisper in the wind. He ignored the whisper, simply flashing his fangs toward the serval before continuing to work on his home. He didn't stop when he heard Stryker's remark, only huffed a laugh as he scrabbled dirt out of the ditch, widening it to be big enough for when he grew up. Then he laid down stones along the side, using a makeshift water pail to create a sort of paste to stick the stones onto. He stuck stones in four pillars to hold up the top, and started outlining the entrance, which was a cluster of dead bushes that had weaved themselves into an arch. It wasn't a large arch, no. It was large enough for Stryker to fit his head into, but small enough so that his privacy wouldn't be invaded. After all that, he dragged his pouch into the new home, and stretched, his jaws opening in a yawn. Re: something worth remembering . building homes - ARGUS - 08-31-2020 Argus had not made the home for anyone in mind: it were too small for the dragon- that much was certain. Even homes created of sprawling 150 year oaks couldn't contain more that her form bundled and coiled. And Argus refused to live in such an easily flammable home. She would rather dig further off, a den made of stone and by her own claws: was a nice thought- this home was a practice, a foreshadow to the great home she would build for herself and her own ghosts? perhaps, only time would tell.
Cesar was the first to approach, small, but still her ears caught to his paws, and the foliage that crumbled under his paws. A pile of leaves now lay scattered near the 'entrance' she had dug: waiting to be woven. She didn't try to make a response towards the feline,; and as the kingpin made his approach the answer was obvious: she had heard the lion's paws before Cesar? or just spotted him from the vantage her height allowed her. She had taken a break from building, for the moment at least to greet those who had come to see the progress- (or halt it, in Caesar's case ) "[glow=grey,2,300]anyone who needs it[/glow]" was the rugged reply; looking at stryker for a moment "[glow=grey,2,300]we are all in need of a place, at least to respite from the winds and rain[/glow]" before she made a gesture towards the leaves. "[glow=grey,2,300] could use some help weaving these along the roof, if you all would be inclined to lend a paw.[/glow]" at this she tilted her mask towards Caesar, knowingly perhaps: he wasn't one much for help as she had known him, she didn't expect much to change in the years. of course, Argus had noted the movement of the youngest so far within the group. Ezrakel could be found darting along argus' edge of vision. A curious note in the otherwise restless task she had set herself to, now after a pause in work she stretcher her head, turning from the group and letting out a large yawn herself. Revealing yellowed fangs and blackened maw. "[glow=grey,2,300]why does it not surprise me that even one of our youngest is more productive than you, Caesar?[/glow]" Argus notes idly, her head tipped to point towards Ezrakel and his freshly built den. Caesar said nothing in response to Stryker, simply flicking an ear to show he heard the Kingpin's words. His gaze watched Ezrakel as he passed and snorted at Stryker's comment - clearly, others seemed to agree with Stryker and of course that wasn't exactly fun to hear. Caesar rolled his eyes as Argus 'offered' for him to help and to hear Argus pointing out that even the group's youngest members were more productive than him. "Because they're obviously trying to please something." Caesar replied, nodding slightly towards Stryker, trying to imply that the kid was only trying to obey the Kingpin's orders - and also likely indirectly implying that he likely wouldn't listen to Stryker. Which... wasn't entirely a lie. Sure, the two have worked together before, but in Caesar's mind, the lion still had yet to prove himself.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] |
