This tall thin-legged dog has a coat of burnt coal though his head, neck, stomach, and tail sport a lovely white-ash, along his sturdy body sculpted by the feline-style training and acrobatic diet. Long sharp canines click menacingly, and a tongue pierced by gold glints behind eloquent features normally adorned with a smirk. Decorated with gold, even his skull is permanently marked with the metal down his eye tracing a scar given to him by his trainer. While one tattered ear sits sharply upon his head, the other flops lazily, giving away his species as entirely dog. Legs wrapped in burgundy cloth, he also sports a hind-quarter belt with a thick golden chain, though it aids in his balance it is often used to hold things or pull supplies from long distances. His most noticeable feature however, is the glove-like paw of blades attached to where a paw had once been. Having gnawed his limb free as a pup to escape a nearly life-ending mistake, he was gifted with the strange object in his ‘teen’ stage by a feline family who had subsequently taken him in.
The claw-blade : theorized to have been a human-made tool for gardening. It had been found in poor condition but melted gold was used to decorate it as it was Miriam’s favorite earthly metal. It was then fitted on the nub of his leg, and used in balance, combat, and intimidation. It moves only with gravity, limited by its construction. ( Miriam sports many of scars from prolonged careless use ) ; gen X

Born to an adventurous dog named Sakura Lofett, Miriam was named Edward Lofett originally in his early ages. Carried in a leather sack with his mother as she traveled the mountains, studying herbs and poisons as she went. His father however, is still a mystery to him to this day as he was estranged from Sakura during her pregnancy. His mother, a woman who didn’t like being tied down to one place, and a keeper of many secrets. She carried on as a scavenger until Edward was able to walk, when they finally settled in a old dilapidated log cabin in the mountains. There, he aged peacefully for three months, before waking up alone at the end of a harsh winter. Confused and too young to grasp his abandonment, Edward waited patiently for days before hunger pushed him into the wilderness. However, while traversing the mountainside he placed his foot wrong and took a tumble with a large rock which consequently crushed and trapped his paw. After another day of impending starvation, the young pup chews off his paw, a move that saved his life.
Nearby, a family of thieves/various heavily-trained felines known as the Voltaire’s called a large cave their home. It was there, that the heavily-bleeding puppy sought shelter, but was faced with a silvery Jaguar named Mortisha Voltaire. The massive apex predator was quick to take Edward in and nurse him back to health, formally adopting and re-naming him Miriam Voltaire .

A canine raised by Felidae, a family strict in their teachings. Miriam was brutally trained by his feline-mother, even sustaining a facial scar and several other nicks and bruises along the way. Learning Acrobatic moves despite being a canine ( not quite known to land on their feet ) and 3-legged also, he absorbed his lessons quickly. Finally proving himself to Mortisha, she gifted him with a refurbished prosthetic paw with long curved blades, adorned with gold (for his love of the earthly metal) . It was then that he learned to walk, balance, and fight with the new weight.
