the skies in his heart | taking up residence - SOJOURN - 03-23-2022

The wind shifted and swirled around translucent and almost invisible wings. An iridescent sheen being the only thing that gave hint to them almost like glass. They kept afloat a lion who had been flying for some time among the clouds after having descending to this world. His eyes shifted over the landscape as his cloud like mane billowed and wavered against the wind. For a moment he hovered there without so much as a care before he finally saw something. What he assumed to be a small little village. A place perhaps to lay down his own roots. The first of many. Slowly he began to make his fall, making sure to take a quick scan of the territory before he finally landed in the middle of the town. Wind whipped around him and those wings seemed to vanish altogether as if they had never existed to being with. But they were always there, sheltered at his side.

With a small hum the lion started to take his steps forward. The orb around his neck pulsating with a warm blue glow. One of these houses would do for him, one would surely be vacant. He paused then at one such home that had become blackened and turned to ash. A frown coloring his muzzle but briefly at the waste. Yet it was none of his business and therefore none of his concern. Turning away from it he continued on to look for a place to call his own and one he did find. It was a house that seemed well worn and had previously been lived in. Skulls adorned it and he made due with getting rid of them. The wind lifting them away with ease and tossing them into the swampland beyond.

He stepped up on the porch and allowed a large yawn to leave him before he settled down against the door for a much needed rest. After all flying could be exhausting and he had traveled quite the long ways.

⛥ there's talk going 'round this town ⛥

the arrival of someone new wasn't missed by a fellow winged creature, her own wings paling in comparison to the attractive new stranger that had landed within tanglewood's town. lifting her head from where she'd been emerging into the town to see his arrival in the midst, a deer's corpse tangled in her jaws. blinking in surprise at the form of arrival, she would bring the carcass to a suitable spot before letting it drop to the mostly dry ground.

walking forth after checking the carcass over with a scrutinizing glance, following the path in which the lion had walked. watching him rest on the porch against the door, she was sent into a mental scramble. wasn't this els' house? well - the former luminary was no longer around, yet some part of her wouldn't feel good to see someone else take over a house that had belonged to her long-lost former girlfriend, atbash. but that was just part of her, part of the sense of right that she had. she hadn't truly known els, but she couldn't help the hesitance.

exhaling before she pulled herself together once more, padding forward and studying the interesting lion before her before blinking and clearing her throat, "ello there. uh, nice flight?", she couldn't blame him for being tired, it had been some time since she'd tried to fly even with her own wings of orange and cream upon her multi-toned pelt. tipping her head, noticing that his wings seemed to have disappeared, had she imagined it? "name's merlin. what's yours, angel?"

he was a pretty sight in the otherwise drab place. not that she could say much, her pelt was just as dark and drab as everything else save for the crackling of gold through it. settling her own wings, pink and purple eyes curiously looking him over. maybe not the best thing to do when a new-comer had arrived but shit, he was a hot piece of eye candy, if she said so herself.

He had no doubt that his presence would be seen and investigated soon enough. Perhaps that was why he was being so casual about just coming in and taking a house. He did not much care whose home it used to belong in. It was his now and he decided to keep it. If someone had an issue he would gladly talk to them in as polite of a tone as he could. Opening up electric yellow eyes the seraphim blinked slowly before his large jaws parted in a yawn. Lifting his head he allowed a smile to form for just a moment as his eyes roamed over the other curiosity. "I would say it was pleasant. Thanks for asking." His tone was deep like rich chocolate as he pushed himself to sit up and be more of a host to this conversation. He had yet to meet the denizens and explore the surrounding area so he might as well be attentive during one of them. Casually he lifted a paw to inspect large claws just for a moment as he thought. Merlin? What a cute name. It was pleasant on the ears.

Though he was humored at her calling him angel. It seemed even not trying it was coincidence that she saw him for what he was. Just by mere accident. "Well, my dear, you can call me Apollyon. As you perhaps saw I just arrived and I'm staying in this swamp." Despite the sullen air and drab disposition that it had. He was invested so to speak and he wanted to get to know this place better. "I'd love to make your acquaintance and get to know you and this place better."

There were times that Seven wished she could see. Her blind eyes searched the forms of Merlin and Apollyon, staring at their white outlines that appeared in her black vision. The exchange of words made her heart jump slightly in a shadow of sadness, but she ignored it and continued until she was a good distance from the two. Blue fur and glowing stripes went unnoticed by her, just as she seemed to ignore Apollyon's appearance. "Ehm, Hello." She rumbled, a smile on her face.
