The meadow was meant to be a happy place for him. It symbolized purity, the kindness of others. It symbolized Saturn in all their glory. In all their purity and kindness. But it, to him, also symbolized the ones the two took in as children. Children like AngelEmbrace, who was gone. And Arvid, who was killed soon before Saturn was too. His paws skimmed over the flowers as he thought.
He never liked kids. No, that was a lie. He didn't like many kids. AngelEmbrace and Arvid were the few he did like. As was Maude, whose war hunger matched his almost perfectly. Ruven, as sick and twisted as his mother was, tried to be a good kid. Solsken.. he was something that Byriath couldn't put a paw on. The war god pulled his claws roughly across his face, ignoring the small blooms of blood that puddled up along the lines.
"I do wish you had stayed, boy. You would have made a fine coalitioner." He rumbled, staring into the horizon. He wanted to see AngelEmbrace, to hear what the boy had done with two years of being left to his devices. But he supposed that after he himself left, there wasn't much for Angel to do. Still, the thought hurt.
