the night had also been a pleasant time for the cheetah, the gentle breeze drifting over her fur and the soft sounds of the creatures still awake dancing all around her. serendipity spent more of her time relaxing under the stars than she did awake with the rest of the group, it was always more calm when the rest had gone to bed and it gave her time to recharge after a day of socializing.

and so tonight was no different as she pushed open the door of her home and padded outside, gently shutting the door behind her. she stepped a bit away from her home before settling down on the ground, curling up before her head tilted back and her eyes stared up at the twinkling stars, a soft smile dancing along her maw as she drifted away in thought.

To some, the night was a peaceful thing. To Ares, one who had so haphazardly let herself become somewhat of a guard animal of the place, she wasn't the biggest fan. There was something about the solitude that she hated. It made her restless. So that's why she was out and about, stalking just past the treeline. And it was there where she saw Serendipity.

Settling herself into a crouch, nose just barely peeking through the bushes, she watched the cheetah, and for the first time in her life, there was a feeling of want. A strong feeling, and it compelled her ever so slightly. A quiet sniff echoed in the air and she watched Serendipity. Seeing how peaceful she was, how the stars and moonlight seemed to highlight her green fur. Honestly, the cheetah, whom Ares had never seen (probably due to being at Avanti's side almost all the damn time), was beautiful.

The sane part of her wanted to step out, show herself, say something, but she refused. Hardly anything more than an animal with no sentience, now. That was all she was. But she couldn't help but exhale, even if it made noise.

Serendipity had been unaware of the eyes that watched her, no she was too focused on watching the night sky. Eventually her orbs fluttered close and a soft hum began to filter past her muzzle as she continued to relax in the comfort of the solitude.

An ear flicked towards the sound of an exhale, her eyes snapping open and the melody she hummed coming to a sudden stop. Her head lowered and she looked around the area, gaze scanning the surroundings but unable to pinpoint where the noise came from. Serendipity's heart picked up, beating wildly in her chest from the anxiety that bloomed. "Hello?" She called out, her voice soft and nervous as she spoke. "If someone's there please show yourself," she hummed, trying to sound confident as she spoke.

As the cheetah moved Ares recoiled, making a large rustling noise before the area was, yet again, silent. But slowly she pushed past the bushes, her right arm extended and palm upturned as best it could. The moonlight gave away some of her features, but the fire that she ignited gave more clarity to her snout, the right side scarred slightly from Rot, and lips parted in a gentle breath.

She took slow steps, stopping when her entire body had been revealed. Her wings folded at her sides and head tilted slightly to one side. "...Hello?" she rumbled, voice hoarse.

Serendipity's head snapped towards the sound of the rustling bush, her heart pounding even faster if that was even possible. Her pupils narrowed into slits as she stared at the bush, waiting for something, anything to pop out. And finally something came forth, a paw that was holding fire and soon a body came with it. Serendipity stared at the other, taking in her appearance but not shying away from it. She was more curious by the other than anything, wondering what had caused the scaring.

The hoarse voice is what startled her out of her thoughts, head shaking slightly to rid herself of the remaining thoughts that were being pests. "A-Ah hello there," she said anxiously. "You r-really shouldn't startle people, it's not nice," she said softly, head lowering to her paws. "Sorry that was rude of me."

Ares' heart skipped a beat as Serendipity stared at her, but when she spoke the dinosaur froze up. Upon her scolding the beast slowly, and dejectedly, laid her body down. Her head shifted around and a low whine left her.

"No.. I'm sorry. I am... not social." she rumbled, feather crest shifting. "I am... Ares."

Serendipity's gaze softened as she watched Ares lay down with a soft whine. She lifted her head back up before tilting it to one side, gaze flicking with a sense of curiosity. "My name's Serendipity, but if you'd like you can call me whatever," she said softly with an equally soft smile. The cheetah let out a soft purr, trying to calm the other the best that she could, even if she was still absolutely anxiety ridden from having to speak to someone.
