How long had she been chasing him? It felt as though she was running in slow motion, and he was getting further and further away. Attempts to yell his name left her breathless and heaving for air, and by the time she had made it to the border, he was gone. "Boy...? Boy! Come back! Please... please!!" She screamed, tears welling up in her black eyes. A wail left her, and she sat down, defeated. It was only a matter of time before he found out. But maybe she should have waited.

Noise beyond the border made her look up, and then she wished she didn't. And she knew they weren't real, just an illusion of her mother and father. Mother, in all her beauty before the sickness, and Father, in all his courageous glory before he became cowardly. She stared, and for a moment she felt so small. Kold whimpered, whined, wept, but even so, she knew they weren't real.

"Dad! Dad, please! Why does it hurt so much?!?" She hollered, hunching over. It hurt so bad, the familiar pain of the accursed blood that ran in her veins. The blood she carried from her mother. It burned like fire in her heart. Another wail left her, and she felt the tears fall.

the self-taught healer had pointed him in some direction and jormungand had followed. it wasn't that difficult, giving the cries and shrieks of the woman and the dead silence of the evening. optics glowing he found her, at the border, crying out for her parents. not him. his heart stung as she called out to her father and he said nothing, simply watched, as she hunched in on herself.

    always dead followed after in time to see jor had caught up. she came to a stop, panting softly as she looked all over. the woman looked to jor, but he did nothing to help. her eyes narrowed at him a moment before she brushed past him to hobble over to kold on sore paws. the woman stopped beside kold and turned slightly.

pressing her flank to kold. not scared of the reaction the other might have. kold needed help and she was going to give it. so, she pressed to the woman, purring faintly in a soothing fashion. like a mother in a weird way. the woman would wait.

he watched alwaysdead push past him and press against his daughter - kold. not his daughter, not by blood. he wasn't sure how conscious she was thus could not determine if she remembered him at all, but would for now simply watch from the side. only intervening if kold lashed out at always.

She could hear and smell people approach, though she didn't do anything even after Always Dead had pressed against her side. It was went another sharp pain erupted in her heart that she fell over, opposite of Always as to not crush her. The mighty woman sobbed for a second, then looked around.

"Dad...?" She whispered, reaching a paw out toward Jormungand. Was he really there? Was she seeing him? Was she seeing her actual father? She continued to paw at him, tears falling onto the sand below. "He's gone, dad. He ran after i told him the truth... he's gone and its all my fault... all of it."

she fell over. his daughter landed on the floor before her wild eyes reached him. "dad?" her paw came out next, stretching his direction, and his heart stung. was she talking to him, or her actual father? he was not her actual father, no. and he would not act like the bastard who abandoned them. padding over and gently touching his larger paw to hers. "cara. it is not your fault." he murmured, crouching down to her level and forcing her to look at him. "it is not your fault. he will come back." flicking his tail and glancing at always to not say anything. he wasn't sure boy would return as he didn't know the severity of the truth, but time only would tell.

    the woman shifted as kold fell to the ground. confused about what this truth was, but not going to pry. she would press her frame softly to kold and let the woman cry. as a mother, she understood. she understood her pain. her son and daughter were gone to her. she knew the pain of a loss like this and there was nothing that could be said. no words to take that pain away.

kold needed to cry it out and have support. so, the three legged feline simply offered that. a pelt to cry on. a shoulder to lean on. someone not judging or trying to tell her its fine. just a silent person to cry to. the best thing she could be.

What was all this noise? The emotion, the feelings, displayed were unfamiliar to them. They could offer no care or words to comfort in this time, sadly. Even so, from afar, the albino serval appeared to be interested. Their dull eyes caressed the two silhouettes from afar and watches as they crowded around Kold, offering their condolences and comfort. The strange feline could only crane their head. With only automatic reactions and calculations to rely on, no feelings could be generated in this situation for them. Only their features could watch in a somewhat scientific interest.

In an attempt to make themselves present, mimicking the others, the unassigned serval started to come over. Their short tail hung low and ears pushed back in a façade of concern. Moments later, they stopped by Alwaysdead. While no words were exchanged, wide eyes stared at Kold, awaiting their next move or sputtering of emotions.
