// [member=567]JEONG[/member] asdfgh im sorry this took so LONG!!!!

Rainier plunged their pole into the water, laying belly-down on the dock. A cloth - their gaudy blue scarf - with a small half-eaten bun sat next to them, the meal they had been nursing for the better part of the morning until it bled into afternoon. It was sweet, with bits of walnut peppered throughout. They grunted, both hands wrapped around the metal staff as they dipped it, swinging it through the water in search of the ground. They knew they wouldn't find it, that the pole was too short and the water too deep, but it was a slow day. Most days had been like that lately, unless they found something to be with. That had gone from being less of a means to get things and more of a way to distract themself from the day-to-day monotony they had been battling off.

Rainier tugged their weapon out of the water and let it land dripping next to them on the side opposite of their meal. They brought the bread to their mouth and finally ate the rest hastily, bringing their scarf up, flicking it off and coiling it around their neck and shoulders again. They didn't like to think of themself as a particularly sentimental person if only because sentiment had only proven to be a danger in the past, but the scarf...well. It brought a lot of comfort, and maybe that comfort was linked to good memories. That was all.

Rainier stood with the staff. Time and time again, they had considered getting an actual sheath for it, but the opportunity to just steal one had never arisen, and they didn't know who to go to to go about getting one made, so they never had. I could go for more bread.
