maybe it was just her mind, but this was one damn cruel world. it had been a few months since she had last seen the one being she counted as a friend. now here she was, following that friend's advice to check out this new place, san creado, was it?

standing on top of a hill, blowing bubbles from her tasteless bubble gum, kade gave a low growl of annoyance. well, she was here now, wasn't she? where was mari? everything she had to bring with her when leaving her old home was heavy, yknow.

[color=#C11B17]"geeze mari. i had to bring my whole forge after all!" she muttered hotly, shifting her weight side to side, already thinking of giving her best friend a piece of her mind. then again, she cared for her too much to be mad for too long. no, she just wanted to see her and hug her like they used to do, because damn, this was a quiet vibe she felt from this scrappy coastal town.

San Creado is a bit too quiet. It doesn't have the same feel Zachariah's hometown had had. He'd be lying if he said he doesn't miss the sounds of the city. Without cars honking in the distance, obnoxious bikers roaring past or sirens wailing faintly, Zachariah can actually hear himself think. Late at night, he finds himself desperately missing the city. The ocean is pretty and all, and once upon a time he would have found the soft rush of the waves lapping at the beach calming, but it's just not the same. With all the free time in the world, no job to do or overlapping work schedules, it's lost all importance.

Zachariah is lonely. It hadn't been a problem just a few hours ago, when he was wandering the streets and making sparse conversation with strangers he passed by, but now that everyone has scattered, he aches for some company. Not even that - he wouldn't mind to be in the same vicinity as somebody else, just so he knows he isn't alone.

Luckily, his wish is granted. Not too far off in the distance, he spots someone atop a hill. With an overdramatic sigh of relief, Zachariah stumbles towards them. It's no one he's recently met, yet another stranger - a young woman who seems to be carrying too much luggage. He watches her shift her weight, and takes pity. From the looks of it, whatever she's carrying looks heavy. "Hey," he calls. "You need help carrying that?"

the young woman looks up when she is called to, her hazy blue eyes quickly picking up on the male stumbling her way. opening her mouth to deliver a biting retort she finds herself grateful that she didnt speak. when he offers his aide she practically slumps in relief, [color=#C11B17]Oh thank Jesus, somebody is here. You look very lonely! And God yes, I would like help carrying this!!"

She isnt so evil to ask him to carry everything but she certainly divides the heaviest from the lightest luggage and proceeds to heft her smithing equipment upon her shoulder, by far the heaviest of it all. She nods to him, looking hopelessly lost. "Any chance that you know a Mari? I'm looking for her."

It really was unusual, because he knew of a Marinette, but that was about it. Should he ask her? Probably, but Adrien really was too lazy to do that. For now, the masked blonde merely walked up beside Zach, a grin on his face.

You know what? Fuck it, he'd ask anyways. "Hi! My name's Adrien, does this Mari you speak of have a full name?" Adrien asked, black cat ears twitching atop his head, his cats tail swishing around curiously behind him.

Zachariah is glad that, when Kade hands him some of her luggage, she doesn't give him a lot of the heavy stuff.  He's never really been strong, and now that his body is practically decomposing, he knows there's no chance he'd be able to lift anything super heavy without a hand or two quite literally falling off. "No problem, hon," Zachariah chuckles, though he didn't exactly hear a thank you. Not that he's about to go lecture this woman about her manners. "Why so much stuff?" Maybe she's another tourist.

Before he can say anything else, some blond kid in a mask sidles up right beside him and beats him to it. He hasn't heard of any Mary around here, however he's sure there was a new arrival by the name of Marissa just a little while ago. "What Catman here said. Ain't heard of no Mari, but there is a Marissa in town."

[align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 45%; font-family: arial; font-size: 8pt; color:black"]Although it probably wasn't what was expected, Mari was actually quite surprised when she first found out that her friend, Kade, was coming to visit San Creado. Sure, Marissa was the one who texted the redheaded girl in the first place, endlessly begging her to come see the place, but Marissa wasn't actually being serious at the time. Considering the distance between the little oceanside town and their home city, the brunette didn't actually want Kade spending so much time just to get here. Plus, she knew that the older girl had a lot of... personal business to attend to, and she didn't want to take her away from that. Obviously, Mari was aware she had done the polar opposite, now that she knew that Kade was standing atop a grassy hill somewhere and waiting for her.

God. Couldn't she at least pick a normal place to meet? Like the diner?

There was the sound of grass gently crunching beneath the weight of her feet before it came to a stop. "That Marissa would be me," a new voice said. It was only a little while since she first joined the town, so it was understandable that people were unaware of who she was. After all, Marissa had no clue who two of the three people in front of her were. There was, of course, Kade, and then two other people that she didn't remember recognizing. One of them looked extremely malnourished and sort of infected, which made Mari feel a little bit concerned. Was this dude okay? Would his fingers fall off at any second like in those shitty horror movies? The other one... he just looked like an average guy, except with moving cat ears and a tail. "What're you guys even doing here?" Kade never mentioned that she was planning on seeing any other people, so surely they had to come on their own accord.

The fact that Marissa wasn't even the first to greet Kade to the town already showed a lot about her role as the redhead's friend. Her lack of showing any enthusiasm at all also displayed something. A little sighed escaped from the brunette's lips. "Kade... you do realize I was just fucking with you when I told you to come here immediately, right? You didn't actually have to do that."

"Well, that's not the Mari I know, but hey! Nice to meet'cha." Adrien chuckled, tilting his head to the side as he gently touched the luggage in Zach's arms, testing his hold on them teasingly. Adrien was in his chat noir form in this world, it seemed. His skin-tight black bodysuit, the ears, the enhanced senses, everything. So, he really was confused.

"We just came to help, is all. Surely you don't want your friend to have a hard time with her luggage?" Chat- er, Adrien, stated with a tinge of amusement in his voice.

when adrien introduced himself after appearing kade relaxed slightly, the redhead breathing out slowly. [color=#C11B17]"Hello. I'm Kade. Ah. Her full name is Marissa. Close friends call her Mari." she told both men, cracking her back as she shifted the weight of her tools. "Ah. I'm here to stay, moved from my old place. Mari probably wasn't expecting this ..." she told them as she rubbed her chin in thought.

her eyes traveled over him as she took in his form and how he looked, her breath coming sharp. he looked very ill, and her senses were tingling, "Hey. I didn't catch your name. Are you okay? You look like you've been touched by Corruption ..." she spoke, her eyes darkening a touch. she didnt want to face the possibility that It was in this coastal town, that It had hunted her mari. Corruption came from It, a demon from her past that she hunted with a vengeance.

her head whipped around as she heard mari, hazy blue eyes taking in the form of her smaller friend, "mari! well, it was way too boring in that filthy old mansion without everyone. i also havent seen you in months. aaand i may have run out of ... targets. my search led me this way ..." she told her, setting her stuff down and turning to attempt to sweep her up in her arms, huffing softly, giving a low noise of content, wanting to hold her because of her loneliness.

"Well, welcome, I guess." Zachariah is doing his best to try and sound friendly, but he can't help questioning Kade's decision. Why come here? San Creado might have a big pineapple, but she and this friend she keeps speaking of can definitely do better. He wouldn't mind pointing them in the right direction. Still, the more the merrier, or so he supposes. "Seriously, you got a bunch of dumbbells in there or somethin'?"

Zachariah thinks that the answer to that question is quite obvious - no, his body is barely held together with duct tape, and if he's making any attempt to hide the fact, he's not doing a very good job. In any other case, he would make an effort to hide his rotten limbs, but he doesn't think he needs to in this particular town, what with it crawling with vampires and things just like him. "Zachariah," he says, setting things down so he can offer Kade his hand to shake. Hopefully she doesn't mind touching it. "Not corruption," he clarifies. "Just gangrene." Though to assume he's been touched by a demon of sorts isn't too far off.

Finally, after a whopping five minutes of waiting, Mari herself decides to show her face. Again, the kid clad in leather beats him to the punch. Zachariah is really tempted to ask what's with the gimp suit, but he knows better. "Just happened to come across your friend here," he answers. "By the way, it's nice to meet you, hon." He doesn't want to intrude on their reunion or anything, but he figures he'll stick around just for something to do. He doesn't mind standing around and listening to other people's conversations.

It's not his place to say anything, but the mention of a mansion certainly does have him raising his brows. She left a mansion for this place? Well, to each his own, he guesses. He certainly wouldn't have given up a mansion for some creaky old coastal town, but perhaps for Kade it's the people that make the home and not the eight bathrooms.

kade hummed quietly, her eyes lighting up in mirth, [color=#C11B17]"No, not quite dumbbells. I'm not that workout focused. Just my whole hobby career. I hobby as a blacksmith and well, uh, hunt certainly things for a living." she told them quietly.

taking his hand with maybe a half second's hesitation she resolved herself. shaking firmly she smiled, "As I'm sure you've heard by now, Kade. Call me Adele, it might be easier to remember. Ah Corruption. A part of my past, and err, a being that is not kind. A long story, really.

Ah, where in the hells are my manners? It's  a pleasure to meet you. Mm. If you can help me with my luggage, I can see if somebody I know in this place, can help with this gangrene. You can also sit down if you would like." maybe she sounded worried, maybe it was chivalry. her eyes turned back to adrien, offering her hand in turn, "Apologies, but your clothing has caught my attention. And, are those real? Because if so, that is impressive! How did you come to acquire the clothing??" she asked suddenly, intense curiosity dying her tone in color.
