The last few days had began to become unbearable and the Luminary was thinking about moving Tanglewood. To shift them somewhere else as her tribe did when things became so unfavorable to them. She was resting for the most part due to Colere and her and Arrow's children who were a lot to handle. Nefertiti kept mostly at her side, silent and watching as her other children when about their day and she gently cleaned them. Tongue lapping over the child's head. That was until she heard it. The sudden and powerful roll of thunder. Blinking her gaze the Luminary carefully got up and pushed the door open to the home she shared with her family. It was as if a darkness had covered the swamp so suddenly. Her eyes looked at the turbulent clouds that hung over head. A harsh but cool breeze blowing through the village. This was it, this was what they needed for so long. Carefully the flaming lioness stepped off the porch, lightning racing across the sky once more to produce another loud bang of thunder.

Slowly as she sat came to the center, near the statue she raised her head and the sky broke. Rain thundered down, sending up dust from the dry ground but soon drenched it. The way it felt on her body was such a relief. Such a wonder. With little though the woman opened her maw to catch the water as it hissed and fizzled on her heated form. During all of this, all of this relief she was crying. But her tears were hidden because of the rain. She was so happy that good fortune had finally returned to the swamp. Something had gone right. Something.

The thunder startled Ares, who roused herself from a nearby tree to get out into the open and stand in the fading sunlight as dark clouds flowed overhead. The breeze made her gasp. "Is.. is it..." She couldn't finish her sentence as rain crashed down. Her eyes were wide, she was speechless. She looked over to Elsweyr, a stupid smile on her face.

She trotted over, a smile on her face growing stupider, wider, as she sat down next to her mother. She couldn't see the tears but knew they were due, though she had none to give the air. Ares flexed a wing, grinning now, head tilted up. Rain. 

"I never imagined I would be ecstatic over rain, but..." And she laughed, folding her wing in and simply letting herself get drenched.

Dry thunder and lightning was a thing that existed, Atbash knew, but when she felt the sprinkles of water reach her fur, followed quickly as the rain started to pour. Like Elsweyr, the savannah was crying out of relief and joy. The rain felt so much better than the dry heat. Her pelt was getting soaked but quite frankly, Atbash didn't care.

Rain. It was so much of a relief after dealing with the heatwave for so long. Vigenere sat on his porch, listening to the thunder and watching the lightning, letting the spray of the rain hit his face. Never have I seen a feline so excited for rain. The serpentine beast had been soaking up the heat over the last few days, reptilian body allowing them to bask in the torturous heat. Even they were beginning to find the heat unbearable, resting in what little shade the dried trees provided. The clap of thunder rang in their ears, eyes opening from their rest, head lifted from the ground to the skies above. Small droplets of water began as a breeze picked up, their eyes closing in soft bliss. Rain. The territory would recover. Getting to their paws, the serpentine dragon emerged from the trees, form shrinking in size until they wore their jaguar body. Their gaze was on Elsweyr and Ares, soft smile on their maw. They needed this, the territory needed this. Turning their head back up to the sky, enjoying the feeling of rain on their face.

They remembered droughts in the past, when famine had run wild as animals and prey left for healthy lands and crops couldn't grow. They remembered the prayers others had made. They remember the desperation. Observing the two with a soft gaze, they turned their head away. It was good that the rain was coming down. The temperature would regulate itself, and normality would return. Gaze finding the siblings in turn, they would chuckle as they shook themselves off, retreating back to the shelter of the trees they had laid under earlier.

Since the heat affected Chalice a little bit more than your average lioness (save for maybe Elsweyr, who had a flame-mane, and other maned lionesses like herself), the woman was resting in her home when the thunder roared across the sky, jolting her awake. Chalice sat there on her bed for a moment before she heard the pounding of rain on her home - and she immediately got to her paws and ran outside on her porch. "It's over!" She exclaimed, letting out an excited roar, letting the spray of the rain hit her and cool her off.[glow=white,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]
