BUT MY DREAMS THEY AREN'T AS EMPTY - ꧂
her helpful nature would no longer let her hide at home. it was far past time for the young fox to get back in the saddle and help her friends. she had a little basket in her maw as she set off into the territory. stopping to collect herbs, berries, and catch prey here and there. she even stole some honeycomb, using her fire to make smoke to drive the bees off.
she paid no mind to the surrounding area. she was far away from any boarders. that meant she should be safe, right? that was what she thought it meant. it had always been safe inside the boarders and far from said boarders. the occasional hawk or fox, maybe a coyote or two. nothing she couldn't handle if she ran into it.
yet, it was not a feral that caught her by surprise. it was the smell of another coalitioner. perhaps another patrol out to check for threats or clean. alas, it was not so. the pain wracked her small frame and she yelped in surprise. she was knocked down. her basket toppled over and its contents splayed on the ground.
she jumped to her paws and turned to face, nothing? the creature that attacked her was back in the early morning shadows. she could feel his gaze on her as she twisted left, and then right. then, she felt it again and thrashed. collapsing on the earth as she struggled. she felt claws and teeth. blood pooling under her as she caught a glimpse of him.
then, the pain of one of her wings as it was cut free. w..why..? she choked out the word as tears stung her eyes. the pain finally making her faint. the last thing she could see was him smirking as he took her wing away.
//she is unconscious. she has a missing right wing, covered in claw marks on her back, and three bite marks on her scruff.
