    At first glance Zjarr may be seen as sarcastic and cold, making sly remarks and being very blunt and stern. However, it is true that he can be quite loyal to those he knows he could trust with his own life and would fight to his last breath for them — the dark clutch of death is not something he considers fearsome. He is very determined, not stopping until he has pushed himself far beyond his own limits, something he tests very often. Zjarr is quite ambitious as well, fueled by his own goals and intense desires to turn himself into someone that would go down in history. His ambition, however, is due to his own personal self-loathing and belief that he is truly worthless until he steps up and proves that he is worth anyone's time. He is far from soft-hearted and can be described as tough and sturdy, attempting to look stable and strong for those around him. He knows that brute force alone will not get him to achieve his goals, and so he relies on his adaptability and perception to lead him. Though he can be hot-headed and act based on his very intense emotions, Zjarr is capable of strong situational awareness to guide him and can rely on his salesman-esque charisma to get by. Despite his being a demon, he does not act upon such tendencies and is not particularly malevolent as many of his own kind are.

    Zjarr's actual history in Hell as a demon is unknown — the first sighting of him was when he was first summoned by a band of foolish adolescents, one of which he had possessed for a while. Eventually he was exorcised and sent back to Hell, only to be summoned decades later once more by a notorious serial killer, Metus Ignibus, with the assistance of another demon, Jupiter. Jupiter had promised Metus great power in exchange for a multitude of lives sacrificed to summon Zjarr, who would take control of Metus' firstborn (and weakest) child. Zjarr followed Metus' son, Silas Ignibus, into the woodlands, where Silas had joined a forest-dwelling clan and adopted the name Harmonypaw upon adolescence and then Flamewhisker into adulthood.

    Eventually Zjarr struck, tricking Silas into selling his body to him and then possessing the feline. He was able to assume Silas'identity, though there were stark contrasts between the two in terms of personality. He renamed himself (in Silas' form of Flamewhisker) to Zjarr publicly and inhabited his physical form for years, ruining each form he would take with the curse of alcoholism and claiming all for himself. In one land he became the deputy of such a woodland clan; in another land he became the leader of his own clan.

    When Zjarr entered the Island in 2018, Silas (who Zjarr now referred to somewhat-affectionately as Flamey) had been able to assume some control over their shared physical forms, forcing Zjarr to act on morals and dictating some of the demon's physical actions. Still, that didn't stop Zjarr from acting on fun-loving impulse, and he had a drunken one night stand with Lunafreya Nox Fleuret, who gave birth to a daughter, Pele Nox Fleuret-Ignibus. With Zjarr a devastating alcoholic that feared the impact of his presence and Lunafreya a budding amnesiac, Pele was left at the Ascendants with no parents, adopted by the rest of the clan. Zjarr eventually joined the Ascendants himself and attempted to make amends with Pele, who rightfully refused reconciliation. Understanding the impact of his foolishness, Zjarr let her be with her new adoptive family and moved on to become a Starstruck Guardian in the Ascendants before disappearing. In this time, he also founded the Ignibus Arms Company, a blacksmithing endeavor for the Ignibus family that sold weapons to all who could afford them.

    In March 2022, Zjarr resurfaced on the Island after having constructed the Ignibus Forge on behalf of his company. During this time, Silas was able to escape from their shared body, resorting to haunting the Forge. At this time, Zjarr adopted three German shepherd puppies that were abandoned near his home: Lanyu Ignibus, Christian Ignibus, and Randall Ignibus. Realizing that the Forge was a dangerous place to raise children (also due to Flamey's chastising him on the matter), Zjarr took his adoptive children with him to Tanglewood, where he had been siphoning metals from their junkyard thanks to a tip from Pittian bounty hunter Blackjack Venturo; he felt safest in this group due to his knowledge of an acquaintance residing in Tanglewood, Aesior Opheles, who he had first met in Tanglewood's junkyard.

    After his official arrival to Tanglewood in late April 2022, Zjarr quickly resumed operations on behalf of the Ignibus Arms Company, traveling across the Island to a variety of groups to peddle his wares; he was notably commissioned by Vale Aston, one of the Pitt's two Ardents at the time, to work on metal-based sculptures and art projects as contributions to the Pitt's restoration efforts. During his time spent traveling and selling arms to Night Spades, Zjarr met a female named Carnyx Ridel, and the two discovered a mutual romantic curiosity in one another. Ultimately, however, they would drift apart as their personal ambitions took up the majority of their time.

    Zjarr left the mainland Tanglewood camp after they had occupied a new island, instructed by Aesior to settle the island with a few other Tanglers and work the lands for food and other resources. He remained on the island and was the de-facto chief of this band of Tanglers until his return to the main camp in the midst of a Typhoon raid, where he joined the mainland Tanglers to defend their territory and members.
