Bastille was agitated today. He wasn't sure what it was that was rubbing him the wrong way, but he could swear every time someone got too close to him or breathed too loudly in his presence, he felt the urge to just... snap. His skin felt too tight, his blood pounding too loudly in his veins; it was driving him crazy, and finally he forced his way out of the Observatory. Usually when this happened, he knew exactly who to blame -- there would be flickers of memories, the occasional murmur in his head, and Bastille would spend hours fuming over which dipshit of a past life was ruining his current one now. But this timing there was... nothing. Just annoyance, a tension buzzing under the surface as he stalked through the territory.
The last thing he wanted to do was make small talk with someone, but Starry had a point: Bast seemed to have a knack for running into strangers out here. Maybe he was just that unlucky. As some idiot's high pitched voice cut through the air, he closed his eyes briefly and then turned to head in her direction. Bast didn't bother to fight his scowl as he approached, feeling a faint headache coming on as he got closer.
Was she... pink? Jesus.
"You're on Ascendants territory," he said flatly, his only form of greeting. He glanced down at the grass, wondering what the hell she was talking about, and rolled his eyes when he noticed the glasses at his paws. "What, these? They're over here. What're you doing here?" Not his best greeting so far, but he was keeping his annoyance down as much as possible, at least.
