Solveig had garnered somewhat of an interesting relationship with Goldie. They knew eachother, certainly, and Solveig respected her as Pincher's daughter- and as a newley assigned Soothsayer, she had to say that her injuries concerned her to the high heavens, especially the fact that she hardly seemed to rest whenever she saw her, but were they really friends? There was respect and knowledge of one another, and while Solveig was protective of the girl, for hardly any more reason that Solv could summarize other than she felt obligated and worried- or at least she would let herself believe that it was only obligation- was it anything more than that? It wasn't like Solveig was anything to Pincher anymore, and it wasn't like the kid was her own, but she still felt the need to look after her.
Maybe it was for Goldies sake.
Maybe it was just for her own.
Sat outside of her hut, her seashell chimes lightly tinkling in the soft breeze that ran through the tropics, Solveig sat tying off the ends of another seashell necklace. It was simple, because it was meant for Goldie. It was meant to be something special and pretty, but she didn't want something so elaborate that it was cumbersome to wear, nor nothing so fragile that it would break in her day to day activities. Instead, she had settled on one large shell in the middle, with beads of seaglass on either side. It was on a simple woven cord. But the seaglass would catch in the light and make it shine, and the seashell in itself as a centerpeice would ensure that Golden had a piece of the Typhoon with her- always. Shells were special. They were protection, and purity; strength and steadfastness, all of the things Solveig so wished upon Goldie.
With the necklace done, she carefully set it into a small box she had found and filled with a bit of long grass to keep it protected. Settling the lid on top, she carefully wrapped a length of ribbon and twine around it before tying it into a neat bow. Now, all that was left to do was to find the girl. "Miss Goldie?" she would call, stretching out her telepathy as far as she dare. "May I speak to you?"
