— first and foremost, akuma dislikes most people that are outside of his family and often doesn't want anything to do with anyone who isn't related to him by blood. he has a hubristic attitude, believing he is very well above others and may even express his belief verbally if he feels the need to. however, he refrains from doing so for reasons beyond anyone's comprehension. he finds platonic and romantic relationships to be of commonplace and that it's a "luxury" that he does not need though he will admit that having "friends" is useful if one knew how to manipulate them properly. he feels these relationships are just for him to toy with and will not harbor a trace of regret. he does find going through the process of manipulating relationships to be rather irritating and often regards those he deems insignificant to his goals with cool indifference. he shows very little empathy towards those who are unfortunate and doesn't seem to understand what the meaning of "sympathy" means. in general, he's rather cold-hearted and even deeper on the inside, he's very self-destructive and loathes himself. he likes to put forth a falsified facade and uses his powers to deceive other people. the "mask" is altered occasionally, though he likes to pretend to be a sort of jokester kind of person who is easygoing and mischievous. due to being a chain (the term used for those who reside in the abyss), he naturally has an immense lust for blood and power. he is overly ambitious and is not afraid of showing as much. he finds physical conflicts to be oddly satisfying and will actively engage in things like spars and raids simply for the fun of it. being a chain has a massive effect on his personality and is to blame for his sadistic and violent tendencies.
