Ximen’s eyes flew open. Chin on his paws, he exhaled and forced his brain to start working again. “Good morning, yeah, good morning,” he said, his words muffled by the yawn.
Straightening up, he glanced at the remains of the horn. Yeah. Well, he’d deal with that latter—the best pieces were in his bag, anyway—and maybe someone else would come along and want the pieces for themself, thus saving him the effort of cleaning up. Wouldn’t that be convenient.
“Aight, kid, time for that lesson,” Ximen straightened up, stretching out and yawning again for the second time. “What does Lucinder know, so far? Or, rather, where does he want to begin?”
