Just relax.
Was it a mantra? Perhaps. It was a lifestyle choice, to relax. After all, what else was there really to do around here? Cory knew no one, at least not well enough to address a single soul by name. There were faces, some that struck him as familiar amongst the crowds, but no names to attach to them. Therefore, they were nothing more than floating masses in the sea of intangible memories. Even the people who accompanied him ripping his aching, water logged body out of the water had no true name. They were simply his help, people who kept him from drawing his form back into the deep, salty cavern of which he felt, perhaps, that he belonged. It was warm and welcoming yet cold and unbearably pressured. Was it odd he almost wished that he wouldn’t have pulled himself out of it?
Perhaps.
Today, the wyvern was staring off into the distance, bringing a bottle to his lips with a satisfied sigh as he adjusted his scarf and swallowed once more. A bitter tingle slithered down his throat, heating up his insides as a grunt passed his lips. The taste was familiar, in fact it may have been the only familiar aspect of his life right now. Living with amnesia was terrible. It was even worse when you had no family or friends to remind you of what you were, who you were. If Cory could remember even a breadcrumb of his past life, perhaps he’d remember that the alcohol he swigged down so fondly now caused him tons of heartache once before.
There the broad beast sat, hit glance finally trailing down to the mass of branches and large embers swirling about. The flames danced in a rhythmic fashion with the gusts of wind beating against them. It was a somber evening, and the temperature was rather comfortable for a massive entity such as himself. Drawing his wings inward, the wyvern allowed a content sigh to pass his lips once more, nestling himself close to the fire he had so carefully prepared.
