The soft thwap of flipper on marsh earth. That was the only sign of the child drawing closer to his 'father'. Slowly plodding along at a turtles pace. The small snapping turtle would draw near to the duo and stop once he was nestled next to one of Cory's paws. He was still not talking, yet, but he was learning words in his small mind. One day he would talk. Today was not that day.

Looking to a stranger he did not know, the male would tilt his head slightly. The child let out a soft chirp of a greeting. Then, his eyes flicked to the fire nearby. Studying it with odd fasination.
