I question how that'd be written, because like,, say you got 6^1 and you'd write that out as just 6; or 6^5 is 6x6x6x6x6. But if you have 6^0, is that just,, 6x0??

when you do something to the power of zero, it's basically dividing the number by itself, which gives you 1. You don't do 6x0 because you don't multiply when it's to the power. 6^2 =/= 6x2 after all
