    THE PINK DIAMOND
It's your turn to roll the dice.

Welcome to the Pink Diamond, the finest casino resort the Beyond has to offer! Book a room, lounge by the pool, have some drinks at the bar, listen to good music, and, of course, play some of our games. Will you be a winner tonight?

Of course, there are folks behind the scenes making sure everyone is having a good time. The Pink Diamond is run by a neutral clan simply known as the Pinks. The Pinks specialize heavily in the entertainment industry while also dipping their feet into commerce and trade. Whatever your whim or vice may be, the Pinks have just what you want, when you want it. Just be sure not to get on their bad side...
    [div style="max-width: 600px; background:linear-gradient(to right, #4d2222 25%, transparent); padding-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 10px; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px; text-align: left; text-transform: uppercase; font-family: arial; font-size: 25px; color: #f1a9a9;"]TERRITORY
While the Pink Diamond's territory isn't particularly expansive, the Pinks have made full use of the hotel they dwell in and ensure that all of their needs can be met either on the premises or through trade with other groups in more spacious territories.

    THE DESERT [x / x / x]
The Pink Diamond finds her home in a rocky, arid desert full of cacti, coyotes, and cryptic secrets. A vast, long-abandoned concrete road makes its way to the Diamond. One can follow the path and make their way to forgotten gas stations, houses, and other decrepit landmarks. Members may go out to scavenge for parts and other resources at the roadside stops, but rarely would they stay in the desert for long unless it's to complete a rite.

    THE PINK DIAMOND [x / x]
The Pink Diamond stands out as a true oasis in the stand, with grass and palm trees surrounding the building as its massive form penetrates the starry night sky. The resort itself stands tall at six floors, with the basement acting as the underground seventh floor. The concrete road splits off to a driveway that leads right up to the doors of the Diamond, inviting all travelers to stay and play. Past the front doors lies the lobby, where visitors can check into a room, drop off weapons, and navigate to the rest of the hotel. Spacious and well-lit the lobby can also be used as a place for traders to set up shop and peddle their wares. The three stairwells and two elevators can also be accessed from the lobby, though the elevators require physical manpower or the use of elemental powers/telekinesis for them to function.

    THE GAMING HALLS [x / x / x / x]
What good is a casino without the games? Immediately to the left of the lobby can be heard the eager chattering of soon-to-be winners as they traverse from machine to table to lounge. Lanterns are used to light the place up, illuminating this well-cleaned den of vice and greed. Though many of the machines are no longer in use, some antique mechanical ones are maintained and available for playing. Dealers sit at tables, ready to man their next game of roulette, blackjack, poker, craps, and more. Members are expected to keep the casino in tip-top shape for guests while also being permitted to hang out in the gaming halls and play to their heart's content in their downtime. For those willing to pay a little extra, there are private gaming rooms that can be claimed (image 3). In the center of it all lies a circular bar where guests can grab a quick drink or rest on the lounges surrounding it (image 4).

    THE RESTAURANT [x / x]
A more lowkey affair, the restaurant and bar are where guests and Pinks alike can go to sit down for a meal or a drink. Alcohol is stored by the bar, which rests inside a restaurant with plenty of seating. A stage rests in the corner of the restaurant, with long-forgotten instruments slumbering upon it, their strings waiting to be plucked. A small kitchen is in the back where larger feasts can be prepared, and most prey and foodstuffs can be found stored safely there as well.

    MEETING HALL [x]
To the right of the lobby lies the meeting hall, which can only be unlocked by Enforcers and above. This large room is used for meetings and any private events for the clan. A small stage at the end acts as a podium for the speaker as they address those in the room.

    CONFERENCE HALLS [x]
For more private conversations, there are a few conference halls on right-hand side of the lobby that may be stepped into. The Board often makes use of these rooms for their discussions, but anyone can reserve a room if they would like.

    THE ROOMS [x / x]
The rooms of the hotel have been cleaned up and properly maintained in order to house guests and the Pinks' force alike. Each room has two lights, a bed, a television (that does not work), closets and drawers for storage, and a small connected bathroom with a tub and toilet (which may not function on their own). More amenities can be requested at a higher cost. The first two room floors of the Diamond are reserved for guests, whereas the next three are reserved for Pinks. Guests may not alter the rooms in any way, but Pinks have free reign over the layout and design of their room. Some of these rooms are said to house spectral guests that are, for lack of better words, unable to check out. See the "Hauntings" piece of the Traditions section for more details.

    BOARD ROOMS [x / x / x]
The Board, the HPs that manage the Pink Diamond, have their own dedicated floors in the hotel. The three Caporegimes share half of a floor between each other, with each Capo taking up their own suite (image 1). Across the hall from the Capos' rooms is the Underboss' suite (image 2), which takes up the rest of the floor entirely. On the floor above the Board rooms is the Boss' penthouse (image 3), which spans across the entire floor. Each of the Board's rooms has their own balcony overlooking the desert. There is a much higher level of quality and extravagance in these rooms when compared to the standard guest rooms; they are considered more apartments than rooms.

    BASEMENT [x / x]
In comparison to the rest of the hotel, the Pinks-only basement is much less lavish and well-kept, though it serves its purpose for the clan. The basement is used for the storage of building materials and non-perishable supplies. The medics and nurses also perform operations here that cannot be done in a guest or Pink's room otherwise. Prisoners as well as clowns also may make their home in the basement, locked into some of the long-abandoned rooms that reside underground (image 2).

    THE POOL [x]
Accessible from the back of the lobby is the Pink Diamond's pool. Members are often tasked with cleaning and maintaining the water level in the pool, which stood abandoned and dry for decades before. As such, the pool is not always filled with water. Nonetheless, this area is surrounded by small cabanas, chairs, and umbrellas, all of which don the signature pink color. Traders can sell their products outside in this area as well. Palm trees provide a background to this cool oasis, acting as a barrier between the pool area and the garden.

    THE GARDEN AND GREENHOUSE [x / x]
A concrete path snakes its way through the small desert garden the Pink Diamond maintains. Local flora can be found here flourishing and blooming, and many of the medics' herbs can also be discovered between the bushes and flowers of the garden. Just beyond the garden lies the Pink Diamond's greenhouse, which houses the herbs and plants that cannot naturally grow in the desert.

NOTE: While the reference images used show lights and the like everywhere, it is important to note that the Pink Diamond does not have any access to electricity. As such, civilians have utilized alternate sources of light and power in order to facilitate different services.
    ALTERNATIVES:
Lighting: As there is no power in the resort, the use of lanterns and candles is widespread in most areas of the resort, and they are routinely lit by civilians. Colored lighting, such as pink lights outside of the resort, are provided by lighting lanterns with containers made of stained glass. There are lanterns in the individual hotel rooms that guests and members can light themselves.
Gaming Halls: Many of the slot machines and electronic games in the casino will not work because there is no electricity to power them; they are merely a decoration of sorts. There are a handful of vintage slot machines that are mechanically-operated which can be used for games and are regularly maintained. Table-based games like roulette, blackjack, poker, etc. can be freely played as they do not require any power.
Elevators: There are two elevators in the hotel (regular and service), but they cannot be used the "normal" way due to the lack of power. A pulley system has been implemented for those needing access to the elevator, and they must be manually cranked in order to move up or down (often operated by clowns or punished individuals). Those with telekinesis or powerful wind-manipulating abilities can use their powers to move the elevators by themselves as well. There are three stairways that members can also use to get between floors: two at the ends of each hall and one in the center of the hall.
    TRADITIONS
    Initiation Rite
You really wanna be a Pink? Get ready to prove it. The medics tend to a garden of peyote, a plant known to have psychoactive properties due to its mescaline contents. It can be consumed raw or in a hot tea. The newblood is blindfolded and escorted through the desert by another member, where they are given the peyote via their method of choice. The newblood is left alone in the desert to experience their wild psychedelic journey. If the newblood makes it back to the Pink Diamond after their trip, they are considered an official member of the clan. A small “P” will be carved into their body (usually at a less noticeable location), and the rite will be complete.

    Rite of Passage
Officers complete a Rite of Passage in order to prove their competence in a given field. In order to gain access to a specialization, they must earn the approval of an Enforcer. This can be a high position they work with or maybe a previous mentor from their adolescence. The Enforcer and the officer must spend a night together in the desert, where the officer must prove their worth to the Enforcer in some way - the specifications of this task is up to the Enforcer themself. Once that task is complete, the Enforcer may decide whether or not to accept the officer’s granting of a specialized title (nurse, guard). To show the Enforcer’s approval, the two will then return to the Pink Diamond and use pink dye to draw a stripe across the bridge of their nose. The Boss officializes the new title at the next meeting.

    The Chip System
Guests and Pinks alike utilize a currency system on the premises of the Pink Diamond. The countless stacks of chips found in the hotel have monetary value assigned to them, and they can be acquired by playing the games and winning, winning contests, or being promoted. Guests and Pinks alike use chips to acquire goods and services at the resort, and indirect trade is done through chips. Chips never expire unless otherwise announced - so hold onto those spare ones!
    GUIDE TO CHIPS:
Chips are different colors depending on the value of the chip itself, as described below:

    White: 1 chip
    Red: 5 chips
    Blue: 10 chips
    Green: 25 chips
    Black: 100 chips

All chips have an emblem of pink dice etched into their center, a symbol of the Pink Diamond.

Chips can be "purchased" at the lobby or in the gaming hall by trading an item or two for a certain amount of chips. From there, they are used to play games in the gaming hall, buy food and drink from the restaurant/bar, rent rooms in the hotel, and more. They are also the primary form of currency for shops set up in the Pink Diamond. All traders and vendors at the casino must be willing to accept chips as valid payment, regardless of if they are a Pink or not, and they too can use any acquired chips from sales made to spend at other shops tax-free.

A one-bed room can be rented at a rate of 25 chips per day, though one can pay a bit more if they would like a larger, cleaner room or one with more amenities.

With enough of them on hand, chips can also be used to solicit more questionable services, such as escorts, hard drugs, spies, or even hitmen. Some may even pay extra to skirt around Pink Diamond rules altogether. For example, all guests must have any weapons confiscated for the duration of their stay, but with enough chips, some Pinks can be persuaded to give you a special pass out of the rule as long as you don’t cause any trouble…

At the end of the day, any unused chips are collected from the gaming halls and other public parts of the casino and taken back to storage for distribution another day.
    Hauntings
In what world would an old casino originally run by the mob not be haunted? With the number of mysterious disappearances that occurred on the Diamond’s grounds, there’s a good chance that you’re bound to run into a lost spirit. Though most are not vengeful and generally do not bother civilians or visitors, there are some that can turn quite violent. Most of these specters have been “quarantined” in their rooms, and they are left vacant in order to diminish the risk of attack. The ghosts of the Pink Diamond typically come out in rooms that are empty and often keep to themselves if a room is occupied. It is highly advised not to try to provoke any spirit, violent or otherwise, and to have respect for them and their deaths.
    SPECIFIC INSTANCES:
Room 101: guests have witnessed the shape of a little human girl that mysteriously disappeared after being taken to the Pink Diamond; though not necessarily violent, she often kept guests up at night with her songs, crying, and moving around personal belongings
Room 228: the room of a former mobster that had murdered two of his colleagues and committed suicide in the room; some can see his spectral figure in the room, and he has a tendency to throw objects at guests and even scratch them
Room 307: a demon-worshiping cultist had sacrificed himself here; this room was the first to be permanently quarantined as its full-time ghostly resident would frequently “take control” of guests in the room and make them perform disturbing acts on themselves and other people
Restaurant/Bar: the drum kit will play a rhythm if no one is in the room; plates and glasses are said to shift around at the bar as a sort of “prank” on the bartender on shift
Casino: slot machines have been witnessed spinning themselves; cards may float at tables
    Halloween
At the Pink Diamond, Halloween is both a huge party and a way to honor the dead. The Pinks fast for the entirety of October 30th, abstaining from everything except non-alcoholic grain-based products and water. When the clock turns midnight and it becomes October 31, the clan holds a candlelit vigil in the lobby or in the garden to commemorate the departed. The candles are left ablaze where they are lit and are not blown out until the end of the celebration. To celebrate Halloween, the Pinks create elaborate costumes and invite all of their friends, guests, and allies to an immense party full of good food, alcohol, drugs, and betting (you’re in a casino, after all!). A bonfire is raised in the evening, where members can give treats and other offerings to their deceased friends, loved ones, and the ghosts that dwell in the Pink Diamond. When the party’s over, those tasked with cleaning up will extinguish the candles that were lit at midnight.

    Weddings
The Pinks love a good wedding - it’s the perfect excuse to party! A couple need only reach out to a member of the Board in order to reserve their dream location for a wedding, from a conference room to the restaurant to the poolside garden. Unless otherwise requested by the couple, everyone is invited and expected to show in their best attire. Even allies of the Pinks are allowed to make such requests, proving once again that the Pink Diamond is the perfect destination to tie the knot.

    Funerals
The Pinks take the send-offs of their dead very seriously. Though not inherently a religious group, they make their residence with many ghosts and do not wish to add more to the spectral population. All members are expected to attend funerals in proper formalwear if possible (or at least get cleaned up first!). Pink dye is used to draw a cross on the deceased member’s face before they are dressed in a thick fabric, the color depending on their tier in the clan (red for a Board member, yellow for an Enforcer, pink for an associate). They are then gingerly placed in their handcrafted wooden casket and buried in the desert or in another location depending on their or their loved ones’ demands. Those that knew the person are expected to speak at their funeral about their life and experiences.

    Ties
Wearing a tie is a symbol of power in the Pink Diamond. Once you become a member of the Board, you’re expected to wear one whenever you’re out in public, from meeting with other clans to just strolling around the casino. Board members have lots of creative freedom with this and can choose whatever tie they would like provided that it is worn neatly, is kept clean, and is not torn or blemished in any visible way.
    HIERARCHY
The Pinks are a mafia-esque organization and divide their workforce into three tiers.

    THE BOARD (LEADERS + HPS)
The people that run the whole damn show.
Boss: The leader of the Pinks. Whatever the Boss says goes. The Boss is expected to make the most important decisions, choose friends and foes carefully, and secure the future of the Pink Diamond for generations to come.
Currently: Archangel Barone, played by psy

Underboss: The second-in-command, answering only to the Boss. The Underboss is the heir to the throne and is expected to pick up the Boss' slack when they are absent. They assist the Boss with crucial choices and help direct the Caporegimes. The Underboss can host their own events and can conduct meetings as well as promotions and demotions if the Boss is gone (with permission).
    Currently: none

Caporegimes (Capos): The masterminds that manage different aspects of the group under the guidance and instructions of the Boss and Underboss. Caporegimes, or Capos for short, host events pertaining to the sector they control and are heavily specialized in their duties. They will interact directly with the Enforcers below them the most.
    THE CAPOS:
Caporegime of Life: The head of the medics. This Capo makes decisions regarding medicine, and they also play a major role in internal events and affairs. Their main goal is to ensure that the Pinks are happy and healthy. They may host or approve training sessions for medics and checkups for the Pinks as well as come up with social events for the clan.
    Currently: none

Caporegime of Industry: The Caporegime of Industry holds power over the Pink Diamond's trading information and entertainment business. They are responsible for maintaining good trade routes and relations with other groups, and they additionally tasked with overseeing the Pinks' entertainment industry. If the guests ain't happy, the Boss won't be. This Capo may find themselves organizing events with other clans, creating and managing trade routes, and hosting events for visitors.
    Currently: none

Caporegime of War: The "general" of the Pinks. This Capo controls the soldiers and shades of the clan with the objective of collecting intel from other clans while ensuring the proper defense of the Pink Diamond and its assets. They may host or approve training/sparring sessions for members, inflict punishments, and execute espionage operations.
    Currently: none
    THE ENFORCERS (HPS)
The good ol’ fellas that the Board send out to make sure everything’s a-okay.
Medics: The esteemed healers of the clan that tend to the physical and mental health of the clan. They may also be tasked with training up-and-coming nurses and directing them to heal guests, though medics typically focus on healing actual Pinks instead.
    Currently: none

Soldiers: The barbaric, brute force of the clan. Soldiers are on the front lines if the Pink Diamond is under attack or needs to take up arms in any way. They may be appointed to train with guards, craft weapons, protect ambassadors during inter-clan visits, and otherwise ensure the safety of the Diamond.
    Currently: none

Shades: Shades are a multi-purpose tool for the Pinks. They may be sent on scouting expeditions, espionage missions to other clans, or to spy on suspicious characters in the Diamond itself. Some shades may even act as assassins if they have the skills for it. Shades also gather resources and can get involved with trade as ambassadors if they desire, depending on how introverted or extroverted they may be.
    Currently: none

    THE ASSOCIATES
And we couldn’t have done it without YOU!
Officers (sHP): A stepping-stone rank dedicated to those that have proven their worth to the Pinks and are qualified to take on a high position in the future. Officers act as a welcoming force for newcomers and visitors alike, assisting them and answering questions in any way they can. After completing their Rite of Passage, officers can choose a more specialized role depending on their skills. Nurses study the art of healing under the medics, performing chores for them and tending to the injured and sick guests of the Diamond. Guards train themselves for the rigorous lifestyle of a soldier or shade, acting as a bouncer on the Pink Diamond's grounds and dealing with anyone too rowdy or offensive. Those interested in pursuing the shade title could take on more espionage-related pursuits as a guard.
    Currently: none

Civilians: The bulk of the clan that completed their Initiation Rite. Civilians do their part by cleaning up the Pink Diamond, gathering resources, helping guests around, serving food and drinks, facilitating trade with other groups, and taking up arms if need be.
    infinite number of slots

Newbloods: Any member that has not completed their Initiation Rite yet. Newbloods have free will around the hotel, but they may be restricted from accessing certain areas or attending some events and meetings. They also cannot be promoted to a high position.
    infinite number of slots

Clowns: The title for prisoners of war, severely punished Pinks, and anyone else not having a good day, the clowns are essentially "slaves" to the Pinks. Clowns are subjected to public humiliation and often perform the least desirable of tasks. They can be spoken to or dealt with in whatever way by anyone above them for whatever reason.
    infinite number of slots
    RULES
    GUEST GUIDELINES
    1. Any and all weapons must be turned in for safekeeping. You will receive your weapon when your stay is complete.
    2. All traders and shopkeepers, Pink or guest, must accept chips as a valid form of payment.
    3. Violence of any kind is not permitted on the premises.
    4. Chip forgery is a bannable and otherwise punishable offense.
    5. Any guests attempting to break into Pink-only parts of the hotel will be dealt with accordingly.
    6. The Pink Diamond reserves the right to ban or evict any guests from the resort at any time.
    7. What happens in the Diamond stays in the Diamond.

    PINK LAWS
    1. The Boss' word is law. Treat the directions of higher positions with respect. Any dissidents will be handled appropriately.
    2. Do not intentionally harm another member or guest. Proven murder and sexual assault are executable offenses.
    3. Clowns are that and that only. They are targets for anyone.
    4. Respect your fellow Pinks and their beliefs. The Pink Diamond is a haven for all that are willing to chip in and play by the rules.
    5. Never cross the Pinks. Make bad decisions, face bad consequences.
    HISTORY
Before the Pinks lived in the Pink Diamond, the Barone gang made its home here. Led by mercenary Salvatore Barone, he took care of the resort with his gang and used it as a base of operations. They were successful in turning the forgotten hotel into something very similar to what it once was without the use of power or anything else they couldn't have access to. In a dispute, Salvatore Barone was executed, and the gang was forced to disperse from the Pink Diamond.

But soon enough, the hotel would be in good hands once more. Salvatore's nephew, Luca "Archangel" Barone, never abandoned the resort, chasing off squatters and those who attempted to encroach upon their uncle's rightful land. In time, they would let visitors come through the Pink Diamond again, eventually employing some promising members to keep the lights on, tend to guests, and act as a protective force. From then on, the Pink Diamond was back in business.

    Archangel Barone:
Archangel was the first leader of the Pinks. They helped the group restore the Pink Diamond as best as they could without human intervention. They saw the resort as a means of dipping into the Beyond's trade routes and a way to develop an entertainment industry for all of the clans.
    POLITICS & TRADE
    POLITICS
The Pink Diamond is a neutral group with socially progressive beliefs; a person can come from any walk of life and live comfortably with the Pinks so long as they follow the rules and play nice with the higher-ups. The Pink Diamond is heavily trade-focused and seeks to create and maintain as many commerce-based relationships with other clans as possible, especially because it would promote tourism to the casino. Though an outwardly peaceful-looking group, the Pinks do like to stick their noses into other clans’ politics and will act accordingly to shift the odds in their favor whenever possible. The use of shades as spies and even assassins can be seen as controversial to some, and rightfully so. To the Pinks, the number one goal is to get all the best deals, all the trade flowing their way, and all of the limelight on them.
    Allies: none
    Neutral: all not listed
    Enemies: none

    TRADE
The desert has little to offer, so the Pink Diamond makes do with what it has. The Pinks mostly trade in food (primarily vegetables, fruits, and grains) and medical supplies, with most of the ingredients coming from their outdoor garden or the greenhouse. Alcohol is also a common export, as are tobacco products and drugs — primarily psychedelic ones like ayahuasca and mescaline extract from peyote. Access to more features of the casino itself is a commodity of its own that the Pinks offer to their trading partners — private conference rooms, lounges, gaming rooms, even escorts and other amenities usually offered at an extremely high cost to other guests. The Pinks’ preferred imports are wood, building materials, meat and animal products, dyes (especially red, yellow, and pink ones), and fabric. Chips may also be involved in trading items; the chip system is further described in the Traditions section.
