He’d have to deal with the fact that he would “never be as cool as Riley” and he had to be “accepting of that fact immediately.” He wanted to sigh, but fought off the urge to. Instead, he tried to put on his happiest look, saying, “Okay. I accept that.” He then watched Ghost’s body posture. Something was off, and he knew it. But it was too late, he hadn’t thought fast enough. The punch landed in his gut, knocking the wind out of his briefly. However, he moved back and turned to the side, recovering quick enough to not be put in a headblock. A grin crossed his features. Now it was his turn. Quickly, he would attempt to move his arm, to push his fingers against Ghost’s solar plexus in an aim to make him feel as if he was choking. — WHERE YOUR LOVE IS STRONG AND BOLDER

He expected something in retaliation for his attack, but not that. With a grunt, he stepped back, almost doubling over again. His hand reached quickly, attempting to grab Roach's wrist before he could pull away. He had been about the pull the American closer, but decided it against it and let go if he'd grab hold in the first place. An arm over his stomach, he backed away again and shook his head. "Hm, good... fasta' than I 'fought," he begrudgingly admitted. With a deep breath, he straightened his posture and rolled his shoulders back. "Easy enough. Step three." The joke was nearly spent because he hadn't thought that far ahead. "Well. Just throw the fuckin' knife properly." To be fair, he really wasn't the greatest teacher aside from yelling some instruction and hoping to god they knew how to do it or at least went someone else. "Are you gonna spend more time 'ere or find some'fing more interesting to do elsewhere?" It was the end of the fuckin' world as they knew it, and all anyone seemed to wanna do was mope about it or train all day. Ghost kept himself in shape, it was just routine, but he also didn't waste all his time doing it.

Wow! Roach sucked up to Ghost, and he still got his wrist grabbed. He nearly attempted to pull it back, but it was released before he could. And then, seeing him with an arm on his stomach and shaking his head to get reoriented, Roach couldn't help but laugh, green eyes sparkling. Though, when step three was told, he listened for a minute, his face eager, before it turned to disappointment. He did so much for Ghost and that was all the Lieutenant could say! He let out a huff, turning and throwing a knife, this time hitting the bulls eye.  "Like that?" He asked, eyes narrowed. And though Roach liked training, he also made the time pass by playing games. And that's when he remembered, as soon as sun was extinguished, he had gotten Truck, Meat, and Royce, to steal all the puppies at a pet store and all the animals at a shelter. A smirk appeared on his eyes, and he turned his head somewhat. "Oh something more much interesting! Have you ever... considered owning a dog, Riley?"

Ghost smirked as he'd watched Roach land the bullseye and he rolled his eyes, draping his arm over the younger soldier's shoulders and shaking him gently. "Atta boy, Roach. I knew you had it in you." He let go and went to grab the knife out of the target, flipping it around in his hand. He hummed absently in response to Sanderson's apparent claim of having something more interesting, glancing over his shoulder at him. He squinted his eyes after a moment and laughed. "A dog? Well, sure, 'fought about it time to time. Soap would probably kill me if I kept one around the barracks, but that'd make it all the more fun. Eh, what's that got to do with any'fing, though?" He flipped the knife from hand to hand before wedging in back into the target.

Roach watched Ghost with eyes that held admiration. That was, of course, until Ghost gently shook him. Watching as he rushed forward and grabbed the knife out of the target, this was like a Senpai relationship. Roach was clamoring for attention. More, more attention from dearest Lieutenant. He smiled as Ghost laughed— something that the soldier usually did. It made the Army Ranger feel better. He chuckled as Ghost brought up the captain. With a twinkle in his eye, he asked, “Well then... if you wanna go overboard, wanna get a huge dog? Me and the guys raided some shelters so there’s plenty to choose from.” Yeah. Roach, Truck, Meat, Royce, and a few others just stole dogs and cats because they knew the poor animals wouldn’t survive the sun going out.

A quiet, but exaggerated, gasp came from beneath the mask when Ghost spun back around to completely fave Roach. Leave to him to worry so much about the dogs during the end of the world. Still, he would be lying if he tried to claim he wasn't in the least bit happy about it. It could definitely been seen in the devilish smirk he gave Roach, the only currently exposed part of his face, the only answer that was really needed. "Brilliant!" He moved back over to drape his arm around Roach's shoulders again, pulling him closer and patting his cheek with the other hand. "Only you would, Roach. C'mon, show me the dogs. Soap is gonna hate me." The tone of his words implied he was going absolutely love it rather than actually being bothered by it.

Of course Roach has to worry about the dogs! No one else would and that meant that no one would be able to get cute puppies anymore. He gave a smile upon seeing that mischievous smirk that always loved to find a home on Ghost. Of course, he had not expected the Mancunian to be so... physically affectionate? He let out a sound, similar to a gasp as he was essentially pulled in the drape. And had his cheeks tapped as if Ghost were an old lady. He made a “hmph” sound and pulled away from the other soldier. And then he began walking, waving him over. “You wanted to see the dogs. You coming?” He asks, forest green eyes settling on the mask-loving fool.

And then they made it to the so called dog room, all of their dogs— from the chihuahuas to even a couple Tibetan Mastiffs, which looked like lions more than dogs, were in the room. And in the corner was a female dog, rather large, after all, being one of the Tibetan dogs. Fluffy, with a bit of an aggressive look. She was gently laying down with her puppies and Roach pointed to her. “Hey, maybe you want one of her pups?” The American asked.

Gleefully, Ghost followed Roach along. Already he was running through names for a dog in his head, giddy with the excitement and possibilities this held. He knew how much Soap hated dogs, and while he was also wary of German Shepherds at the very least, he was numb to the fear that might've instilled in him. Staying in the doorway and just peeking inside as Roach went in, he immediately wanted to pet every single dog in there. They were all so cute. (Maybe the Chihuahuas less so, but he wouldn't tell Roach that.) When the American pointed out the pups and their mother, his eyes widened. They were absolutely adorable, and seeing what they'd grow into, he was in love. "Yes," came he rather quick replies. "Don't have to ask me twice." He came forward into the room, standing beside Roach now. "Is she gonna get mad if I take one?"
