OPINION — "Oh, Jacob? He's pretty nice- reminds me of someone I used to know, but I can't really remember who, so I doubt it's really important. I respect him for his responsibility and poise, considering the position he's in - I mean, he's been in this clan just about as long as I have, I think, and he already has to take care of all of us as leader? I'd lived in my old home for months before I had to take on that kind of responsibility. He seems a little unsure about himself, though, which is something I think he could work on. I mean, he has all these people looking up to him, you know, and he needs to sound really sure of his decisions and himself as a whole, or people might start questioning his authority. I, like, totally get it, though- I've been there before, for sure."

Maybe it's some sort of paternal instinct, but something about him makes Pierce want to protect and take care of him- of course, he's like that with most young people, but Jacob in particular is someone he wants to take care of and help, maybe because he sees himself in him.
