UP THEN IT'S STUCK ☆ typhoon capture

Well now. This one... this one was something that Arvid was particularly proud of. When he had first approached The Typhoon's territory, he hadn't had any grand ideas about who he was going to test his poison on. He had just wanted to get a random Typhooner, and if they happened to pass out? Well, all the better for the capturing. He was sure that Sojourn would be pleased with whoever he managed to nab, considering she and many others seemed to despise The Typhoon and speak of it with vitriol. However, he had really managed to go above and beyond this time, at least in his opinion. Not only had he managed to poison and capture a Typhooner, but he had managed to capture the leader's daughter. At least, he was fairly sure she was the leader's daughter. She carried the Roux name, and even if she wasn't a direct descendant, she certainly seemed to be someone close to her. This little fact had managed to fill Arvid with a grand sense of satisfaction as he trekked his way back towards the Coalition's territory, Vayne dangling from his jaws, stiff and unmoving. He wasn't sure if she was merely still paralyzed, or completely passed out, but he didn't really care all that much. Either way, she wouldn't be able to fight back all that effectively once the poison wore off.

He knew he could've headed straight to the forbidden caverns with the feline, but he decided not to, at least not right away. He was fairly sure that Sojourn would be interested to see the capture personally, along with a few others. After all, Vayne seemingly held the Cipher surname as well – he wasn't sure what connection there was between the Typhooner and Aphra, but he imagined said interaction would be interesting all the same. So, the canine carried the older Cipher into the middle of camp, dropping her a bit roughly onto the ground as he cleared his throat, "I managed to get one of The Typhooners." He then added on, a slow grin coming to his muzzle as he spoke, "Not just any random one, though. I'm fairly sure she's going to be quite the hit to their morale. Being the captain's daughter, and all." He the. Lifted up a paw, aiming to jab lightly at Vayne's side before he ordered, "Hey, you. How about you introduce yourself for us all?" He knew the poison had to be wearing off at this point – surely she could speak by now?

As Vayne was carried back to the Coalition, she was awoken and let out a groan - though moving was still almost impossible. At the very least, she couldn't really feel her legs properly and trying to urge herself to move ended up failing, even within Arvid's grasp. As the direwolf pup dropped her on the ground, the air was knocked out of her lungs, making her cough. Her vision was a bit fuzzy, but the only thing she could really make out was that she was in a small town.

Arvid poked her side, harshly demanding that she introduce herself. Vayne only flattened her ears in response, hissed and spitting in Arvid's direction, not offering any sort of words. For right now, anyway.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]

"She is not the Captain's daughter."

Aphra's voice came out as an icy hiss as she approached. She was of course pretty quick to come over once she saw the orange-spotted pelt of Vayne, the fur along her neck bristling as she approached Arvid and his capture."Vayne Cipher-Vantas." She growled, answering Arvid's question for Vayne - though unfortunately, she was dead wrong. Although Vayne carried these surnames in spirit, Aphra was unaware that Vayne did not claim the Vantas name. "Welcome home, dear." Aphra's expression and demeanor quickly changed, becoming almost sickening sweet.

Looking at Arvid now, Aphra purred, "Thanks for bringing her here. Now she can finally stay with Mother. Isn't that right?" The question was added as she looked back down at her daughter, with a smirk on her face. "I knew you would be coming back soon." She added to Vayne telepathically, which earned a flinch from the young she-cat.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]

"they flip the siren, hit the lights" ✭ ── Angel had caught on fairly quickly that he had a lot of half-siblings. More than one person should, but that was his mother's business and not his. However, despite all his public claims and some private that he disliked his mother and wished her nothing but ill-will, to even imagine that in the mess there was one child that Aphra would actually lay claim to in front of others, that left a bad taste in his mouth that he had no explanation for. Jealousy? It couldn't be...right? He hated Aphra and Aphra seemed to hate him, so what was the deal?

"Mother?" Angelembrace asked rhetorically, looking between Aphra and Vayne without hiding his disdain for the Typhoon girl. A strong exhale left his nostrils, tip of his spotted tail twitching violently. She didn't seem to possess any traits that Angel found notable or worthy of his interest, she seemed plain to him. "Can't she speak? My other siblings talk just fine." Did he actually care to hear her? No, not particularly, he was too engrossed in his strange and vehement disgust. Really, what was going on there? The jagaur cub forced his attention onto Arvid, or maybe even Byriath. Anyone else. "Do you think the captain's going to look for her? Or will they all just sit around and cry?"

Vayne winced as her mother's voice echoed in her mind, a telepathic message spoken seemingly only to her. Seeing Aphra here made the Privateer angry; of course this was where she ran off to. Although Aphra had been there during her Entrance Ritual, Vayne hadn't gotten the chance to really tell where she had gone off to. The Coalition was The Typhoon's biggest enemy and of all places, Aphra had to choose here, didn't she? Vayne's own fur bristled as Aphra came over, followed by her clanmates.

"I can talk." Vayne snapped, glaring at Angelembrace. The jaguar cub had venom in his tone, mentioning siblings. So she was related to this guy, too? It shouldn't be that much of a surprise, but it did make Vayne wonder why Aphra was so hung up on her. Defiantly, she turned her gaze back to Aphra and tilted her head up (as much as could at least), as if trying to mock how haughty Aphra looked. "My name is Vayne Cipher-Folie-Roux, and I am the daughter of Captain Roxanne and Officer Diya -" Now she turned towards Angelembrace again, lowering her head to glare at him. "- and they will be coming to find me." This is a promise.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]

Aphra didn't pay much attention to Byraith, but did note that they came over to see what was going on, commenting on how feisty Vayne was. Angelembrace followed quickly after, mocking Vayne and earning some points from Aphra - the mock Angel made ended up making Vayne speak up and Aphra's head turned sharply to look back down at Vayne as the Privateer spoke about being adopted by Roxanne and Diya. The oriental longhair's lips peeled back in a snarl before she unsheathed her claws and raked them across VAYNE's face. The sight of Vayne's blood on her claws was... oddly satisfying, and seeing Vayne recoil back from the attack made an odd spark of joy flow through Aphra's body. No wonder Caesar enjoys this.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]

Honestly, Vayne should have expected Aphra to lash out, considering the woman tried attacking her during her Entrance Ritual. Then again, Vayne had only retaliated in self-defense; she didn't want to be with Aphra and yet her 'mother' insisted on making her stay. Why exactly? Vayne didn't have an answer to that.

Vayne closed her eyes as she saw Aphra's paw get close to her face, recoiling back as she felt Aphra's claws rip into her skin and fur. Blood slowly started to come out of the wound, with Vayne keeping one eye closed as she looked back up at Aphra, who looked sickeningly pleased at what she just did. There was a silence between the two family members, with Vayne being too afraid to say anything else to Aphra, and Aphra just being smug over what she did.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:･ﾟ[/glow]
