— Snarl was perhaps the first person to breach the outer shell that kept Kaz distant, aloof. She figured out that there was more to him than just his work, and for accomplishing that, he's become somewhat attached. As much as he would like to think that Tanglewood is just another temporary venture, she has him tethered to her strong sense of authority and her divergence from the standard path. He is following her lead no longer because he's curious, but because he's dedicated: she will go places, he knows it, and he'd rather be her ally than an enemy.
