Things were once simple, times had once been easier. Such things were so far gone now, that it left bitter tastes in her mouth. So much had changed, so many faces had disappeared from her life. Perhaps... that's what led her to an ancient runes of a graveyard. Something familiar laid here, something called to her like the echo of a voice she couldn't make out. Maybe she was trying to find that voice, a balm to her pain when she heard the few words. Today it was louder than ever before, leaving her digging up to her shoulders in mud and memories.

Taking a break from her work, ears twitching as if abuzz, the faint voice becoming so much clearer. She really shouldn't be pushing her recovering body this far but the dreams and nightmares insisted she find this place that she saw there. In this place she would find something that would silence the voices, except that they were screaming and growing clearer the deeper that she dug.

It was now that she needed to take a rest, her domestic body screaming in agony. Twisting the top off her canteen with a slight struggle, the cream tabby slaked her thirst with a heavy sigh, a glitter of gold in the pit she had dug.

IT WAS NOT YOUR FAULT, BUT MINE!

Concern laced his red eyes as he limped toward the feline. Or, at least, toward the pile of dirt and the hole he assumed she was digging. He sometimes had moments of manic energy, but none went so far as to dig a hole in a graveyard. "Are you digging your own grave?" He called out, deep honey voice leaving into the air.

"The healer lady told me that we both need rest. If yer digging your own grave, at least wait until you're not nearly dead." Though, that would defeat the purpose of digging one's own grave. Making their bed to forever sleep in the dirt. Gods, was he always this morbid?
